Educator of the Year - Board of Trustees Award for Excellence in Teaching

A Program to Highlight the Strength of Teaching in our System
The Board of Trustees Award for Excellence in Teaching is a program that had simultaneous origins in a proposal from faculty and administrators (made at the Center for Teaching and Learning Steering Committee meetings in fall, 2003) and a suggestion from Trustee Choate at a Board meeting.

Over the next three years, a systemwide committee designed the program and wrote the guidelines which were approved by Sr. Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs Linda Baer and by the Board of Trustees. In 2006-2007, the awards were bestowed for the first time.
